Consort of Fire by Kit Rocha | Book Review

Today’s the release day for Consort of Fire (also known as the horny dragon book). While I wait for my preorder to arrive, I’m celebrating publication day by posting my review.

Why I read it: I’m a Kit Rocha fan and a member of their discord. I snapped up this book when it was a “Read Now” on NetGalley. (Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for providing an advance copy; this is my honest review.)

• Why is the dragon horny? It’s been 100 years since he had an orgasm. The earth moves (literally!) when his dry spell ends.

• Bisexual and polyamory rep. This is a romance between three characters: Sachi, Zanya, and the Dragon.

• Library Journal called this a read alike for Fourth Wing. I have not read Fourth Wing but can confirm Consort of Fire is a shining gem in the romantasy genre.

• There are secrets! An assassination plot! Old gods and new gods! You will wonder how the story could possibly be resolved. (And then immediately want more. Good thing a follow-up, Queen of Dreams, is set to be published in 2024.)

• Bree and Donna of Kit Rocha put so much thought, care, and skill into crafting this fantasy world and its cast of characters. Seriously, it’s not to be missed.

Recommendation: Consort of Fire is another must-read book from Kit Rocha. Love the fantasy world they've built and can't wait to read more from this series.
